I started taekwondo in June 2002 in Helston under the instruction of Mr Mike Beard 4th Dan ( now 5th Dan) with a view to improving my overall level of fitness. Enjoying the discipline, I progressed through the gradings whilst entering competitions including the Cornish Open, English, British, Southern Open and many more. Since starting taekwondo I have won 24 trophies and medals and have as yet have not come away from a competition empty handed. My greatest achievements have been to become world champion in October 2004 and Again at the S-Factor World Championships in 2006. I was also very proud to receive my black belt in July 2005. In March 2009 I successfully graded for my 3rd Dan and I am now currently working towards my 4th Dan
I started teaching August 2004 in Falmouth and opened First Defence Hayle Taekwondo in February 2006.
